College football returns to full swing this Saturday, but for the reigning Coastal Division Champs, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets' march to Charlotte begins Thursday night. Joining the Yellow Jackets in making their debut on Thursday night is North Carolina, Wake Forest and Duke, offering three Coastal Division contenders for ‘Canes fans to assess before Miami storms the field on Saturday.
Several other conference members begin their 2015 campaigns with competitive matchups against preseason top-25 opponents. On Saturday, the Virginia Cavaliers face the No. 13 UCLA Bruins and the Louisville Cardinals take on the No. 6 Auburn Tigers in the Georgia Dome, rankings based on the preseason AP Top 25. Both contests pit the ACC against quality non-conference, Power 5 adversaries and present an early opportunity for the conference to prove its worth. In total, the ACC squares off with four Power 5 opponents in the opening week, including the B1G, the Pac-12, and two bouts with the SEC.
While the aforementioned games are high profile, neither compare to Monday night's showdown. The only team to beat the National Champion Buckeyes in 2014 is the first team to have a crack at them in 2015 - the Virginia Tech Hokies.
Every ACC member is in action this week, offering fourteen different matchups to satisfy your longing for college football. For complete game listings scroll below. The battle for ACC supremacy begins Thursday.
