Al Golden: Berrios and Coley "Day to Day"

The UM Head Coach says the team "dodged a bullet" when referencing the injury statuses of two of his top receivers.

Fresh off the heels of a sharp opening 45-0 win over Bethune-Cookman, the University of Miami had additional good news on Sunday Evening.

Both Stacy Coley (hamstring) and Braxton Berrios (knee) are "day to day" and neither appears to be seriously injured.

Coach Golden wouldn't go too much further in detail on either, but seemed relieved when talking about their health, and said his team "dodged a bullet".

Golden also said there were no further new injuries to report at this time, though a few players had bumps and bruises.

Other notes:

AG also was very happy with the work of his second team offensive line, but was "not disappointed at all with the 1's."

He felt that the 2's as a whole brought a lot of energy but that the starters showed a lot of leadership and involvement on the sideline as well when his back-ups were in the game.

He praised defensive lineman Kendrick Norton, R.J. McIntosh, and Demetrius Jackson among others.

He also felt QB Brad Kaaya "settled in" after starting out "rifling it in."

Golden was complimentary of Friday's opponent FAU, saying he was impressed by them on film, and they had "a lot of guys who could run" and were a "physical team that could put points on the board."
