I'm now undefeated in College Football Playoff games that I attend in person. The couple sitting next to me perfectly mirrored what happened on the field. The two Oklahoma fans in their 50's spent the entire first half making out like their ship was sinking. They seemed excited at halftime after glancing at the scoreboard as they left their seats, finally noticing the Sooners were leading 17-16. As the second half started, the couple was nowhere to be found. Oklahoma was dominated 21-0 from that point on and we never saw them again. After leaving the Orange Bowl, I was riding a wave of confidence from picking the Clemson game so accurately. I just needed Michigan State to stay close with Alabama to cap off an impressive 2015 season. Lane Kiffin and Jacob Coker ruined my night as the Tide dominated in the second half.
My record this bowl season is 16-15. There are nine games left before Clemson and Alabama meet on January 11th. If you enjoy reading about my torment and anguish, root for these remaining picks to go 4-5, thus resulting in Precise Mediocrity at 20-20.
Outback Bowl
NORTHWESTERN +8.5 vs Tennessee - Noon
Nortwestern's defense is good enough to keep this game close and Tennessee struggles to put teams away.
RICHT PICK
Citrus Bowl
MICHIGAN -4 vs Florida - 1pm
Michigan will shut down Florida's struggling offense. Treon Harris throws at least 2 INT's and the Wolverines pull away late.
RICHT PICK
Fiesta Bowl
NOTRE DAME +6 vs Ohio State - 1pm
This game is all about motivation. Ohio State players are disappointed they didn't make the playoff and starting to think ahead to the NFL. Notre Dame lost two games this season by a combined four points to Top 5 opponents.
Rose Bowl
STANFORD -6 vs Iowa - 5pm
One of Iowa's biggest accomplishments was a close loss to Michigan State. Christian McCaffrey puts on a show as Stanford wins by two scores.
Sugar Bowl
OKLAHOMA STATE +8 vs Ole Miss - 830pm
Playing without several star players on defense, Ole Miss will give up points to the Cowboys. Expect a high scoring game. The team with the ball last wins. OKST QB Mason Rudolph will play well.
Saturday
TaxSlayer Bowl
GEORGIA -6 vs Penn State - Noon
Penn State's best Power 5 win was against Indiana. Georgia will control the line of scrimmage and make enough big plays to blow out the Nittany Lions.
RICHT PICK
Liberty Bowl
ARKANSAS -12.5 vs Kansas State - 320pm
This game won't be close. Kansas State was fortunate to make a bowl and went just 3-6 in the Big 12. The Wildcats won't be able to stop Arkansas's running game. The Hogs put up 300 yards rushing and win by 20+.
Alamo Bowl
OREGON -7 vs Tcu - 645pm
Without Trevone Boykin, TCU won't be able to keep pace with Oregon. His arrest just days before the game completely alters TCU's game plan. Oregon QB Vernon Adams puts up big numbers and the Ducks control the game from the start.
Cactus Bowl
ARIZONA STATE +1 vs West Virginia - 1015pm
Arizona State has more talent and West Virginia will be without several key players due to academic related suspensions. The Sun Devils have been frustrating to watch all season, but they'll finally put it all together and win convincingly tomorrow night.
