Swasey, a longtime UM staffer and strength coach since 2001, has been the S&C coach for multiple NFL players, All-Americans, and Olympic athletes. He oversees the strength program for the entire athletic department, so this move has more wide reaching impact than just the football team.
This is another move that shows how dedicated Mark Richt is to change and improvement. It will be interesting to see the reaction from UM Alumni, specifically the NFL players who used to come back and work out with Swasey. But, this is another part of the reshaping of the entire Miami Hurricanes football (and athletic) program, and I'm fine with it.
