The Under Armour All-American game is one of 2 major All-American games that wrap up the High School Football season. Along with next week's U.S. Army All-American game, this is one of the premier talent showcases of the HSFB year, and a major draw for elite P5 level recruiting talent.
This year's game, which kicks off at 12:00 noon on ESPN2, features many Miami Hurricanes commits and targets. I wrote about them earlier this week, but here's a quick primer for you:
Canes commits
QB Jack Allison. The future signal caller for Mark Richt's Canes was said to be one of the top QBs at this event. Allison will wear #14 for Team Highlight in the UA game.
WR Sam Bruce. The electric playmaker will look to find space to operate on Saturday. He's both fast and quick and a nightmare for opposing DBs. Bruce will wear #3 for Team Armour.
WR Dionte Mullins. After missing his senior season due to academic ineligibilty, Mullins made his first return to the football field since 2014. And, he didn't miss a beat. Mullins was routinely seen beating opposing defenders and reminding the recruiting world why he was named to this game during his junior year. Mullins will wear #4 for Team Highlight.
DE Patrick Bethel. One of the most recent Canes commits, Bethel is a player with a great frame and high motor. Bethel will wear #93 for Team Highlight.
Canes Targets
This list continues to grow, because Mark Richt continues to offer anybody who does well this week in practice. With a good roster, but one that could use more top-end talent, I have no problem with CMR and the Canes doing this. So, anyways, a few targets are:
RB Devwah Whaley, WRs Tyrie Cleveland and Eli Stove, CBs Carlos Becker, Shyheim Carter, Kristian Fulton, and Nigel Knott, among others.
The only Canes target scheduled to announce during the game today is RB Devwah Whaley, and that's a good thing. Whaley, who was committed to Georgia when Richt was the coach, is a player that, regardless of today's announcement, Miami will recruit and try to get to campus for an official visit. Furthermore, with CMR trying to make a late run at some of the guys playing in this game after being hired by Miami, we need as much time as possible to work on recruiting them to the Hurricanes.
