Recruiting Radar: Brian Edwards decommits from Miami

A day after getting a DB commit, Miami loses one.

According to Corey Bender of Scout.com, 3-star DB Brian Edwards (Miramar, FL) has decommitted from Miami.

Edwards is a player with great size and length at 6’3”, and the ability to play either CB or S at the collegiate level. His decommittment means that Miami has 3 players committed at DB in this class (Billy Gibson, Amari Carter, Trajan Bandy, and ATH DeeJay Dallas could end up on either side of the ball in college).

Edwards has had previous connection with Louisville, and his teammate CB Kaheem Roach is committed to the Cardinals. A talented player whose best football is in front of him, Edwards will no doubt have plenty of options, including Miami, for his collegiate destination in the weeks and months to come.

For now, the Canes’ 2017 class is now down to 19 recruits. There’s still plenty of scholarships available and plenty of time to fill them. Miami will work in the future to do just that.

More on recruiting in the coming days.
