Big win on the road on Saturday. Big game at home this Saturday. Let’s open the week with some news, shall we?

Canes beat Georgia Tech 35-21, move to 4-0 (1-0 ACC) on the year

It’s always a chore playing Georgia Tech. They run an offense that few teams run, and that offense presents unique challenges for the opposition. Miami, however, was able to continue their undefeated season, dispatching the Yellow Jackets 35-21 on the road.

I had your game recap

Justin Dottavio aka Ironman Football took a look back at the X’s and O’s from the Miami-GT game

Here are your game highlights from the ACC Digital Network

Here’s a quick Video Podcast I did to recap the win

Following the win, Miami moved up to #10 in both the Coaches and AP polls

4-0, playing at a level that looks and feels like Miami Hurricanes Football, and heading into the next game. Just like it should be. Speaking of that next game....

Next Up: Florida State Week!

That’s right, boys and girls. It’s Florida State week. In case you didn’t believe me, here’s a tweet that might convince you:

Let’s go.

For this week, we have a StoryStream of all our pieces leading up to the game. You’re gonna want to bookmark that page, guys.

In case you missed it, Canes-Seminoles will be an 8pm kickoff, and televised nationally on ABC.

Vegas has spoken: Miami is a 2pt favorite over Florida State.

And, in case you need help getting hype this week, here’s SOTU Video guy Josh Forbey’s latest masterpiece:

Chills.

I’m ready. Let’s fast forward to 8pm Saturday already.

Will Hurricane Matthew impact Miami-FSU?

Worth watching at this moment, but there’s a huge Hurricane in the Carribean that has the potential to come toward South Florida.

Hurricane Matthew is the latest storm this season. It has vacillated between Category 4 (130-156mph sustained winds) strength and Category 5 strength (> 157mph sustained winds). It is currently a Category 4 storm, making its way toward Jamaica, Haiti, Cuba, and the Bahamas.

Now, the cone of predictability is East of Florida, so that’s positive. Now, the storm could track back with a Western path toward Florida, but that seems unlikely.

As of now, there may be storms that hit South Florida (I mean, what else is new?), but nothing major enough to disrupt Canes’ practice or affect the game. But, like we all know, the weather is the hardest thing to predict, so things could change at a moment’s notice. Hurricane Matthew is something that everybody in South Florida will continue to monitor throughout the week.

Canes Futbol making history

Last week, Canes Soccer aka Canes Futbol beat #2 Virginia 2-1. This week, they followed that up with a 2-1 win over Wake Forest.

That win moves Miami to 3-1 in ACC play for the first time EVER.

Congrats on the win, and keep it up, ladies!

Quick Hitters

Other stuff for you to read:

SBNation Analytics guru Bill Connelly’s new S&P+ ratings have the Canes 10th. They fell slightly from 6th following the win over Georgia Tech. The highest ranked individual unit? The defense. Let’s go!

Draft Breakdown had a nice video of Brad Kaaya’s game against Georgia Tech.

A day early this week, but here’s the Canes commit HSFB recap. Some dominating performances for future Canes, yet again.

Here’s some cool cleat stuff, as documented by Canes fan Andrew Ferrelli

Yeah, that’s pretty cool. Might we see these custom (?) cleats later this year? We’ll see.

To end, as per usual, if you missed yesterday’s news and notes, it’s right here for you:

That’s it for this morning. Be sure you check back early and often this week. We have PLENTY of great stuff coming your way. Trust me.
