CB Latavious Brini has decommitted from Georgia. Is Miami in place to make a move?

Just days after 4-star ATH Christopher Henderson decommitted from Miami, another local player has decommitted from his school.

Per his twitter, 4-star CB Latavious Brini has decommitted from Georgia.

Brini, who plays for Hialeah (FL) Mater Academy, is a prospect that Miami has been engaged with for a while. Prior to his commitment to Georgia, Brini and his brother — 2019 RB Montravious Brini — visited campus on multiple occasions.

A long and lean athlete, the 6’2” 200lb Brini would be a nice fit in the Canes’ 2017 recruiting class. With multiple spots open, including the DB spot recently vacated by Henderson’s decommitment, Brini could be paired with Miramar CB Brian Edwards in this class. The pair, 6’2” and 6’3.5” respectively, would give Miami size at the cornerback position that they haven’t had in quite some time. And, with CB coach Mike Rumph being the prototypical “Big CB” when he was a star and Miami and a 1st round NFL draft pick, there’s coaching in place to help Brini and Edwards reach their potential.

There has been some chatter that Brini would decommmit from Gerogia, and now that’s come true. There’s been other chatter that Miami would make a move on him once he finally decommmitted.

We just have to wait and see if that 2nd part goes from conjecture to reality as well. You can see Brini’s highlights below:

More on this as it becomes available.
