It’s Friday. There’s news. You know the drill
Hurricane Matthew misses South Florida
We in South Florida braced for a major Category 4/potentially Category 5 Hurricane to hit on Thursday. But, at the last minute, Hurricane Matthew’s path jogged slightly to the East, greatly reducing the impact the storm had in South Florida.
There were about 155,000 people who lost power across Broward and Miami-Dade counties, but that number is very low. For those who haven’t been in a Hurricane before, this was basically just think of a heavy rainstorm. It was like that for the entire day on Thursday. Not great weather, but not terrible/catastrophic either.
As someone who lived through Hurricane Wilma, and having friends who lived through Andrew, I’ll take this as the Hurricane situation every time. Sucks we had to put up shutters and the like with the path of the storm coming directly at us until the last minute, but better to have and not need than need and not have, IMO.
Miami vs Florida State game set to be played Saturday in Miami
Now, with the Hurricane past South Florida, the Miami Hurricanes will look to return to practice on Friday. And not only that, but Florida State looks to fly from Tallahassee to Miami on Friday, as well.

On top of/with that, all signs point to the upcoming Canes-Noles rivalry game being played on Saturday night at Hard Rock Stadium.
While other games in the CFB world have been rescheduled (Georgia-South Carolina will be played Sunday) or canceled (LSU-UF is postponed indefinitely and may not be rescheduled), the Canes and Noles will most likely be able to play their game as originally scheduled.
So get ready, guys. See you at the Stadium on Saturday!
(Probably)
Ranking the rivalry: Canes vs Noles
Fox Sports ranked the top 20 players to ever play in the Miami-Florida State Rivalry game. It’s a really fun thought exercise, and worth your time to read, for sure.

First thing worth noting: there’s way more Canes than Noles on this list. Just like it should be.
Next thing worth noting: there are Heisman Trophy winners and All-Time CFB greats who DIDN’T make the list. Vinny Testaverde. Jameis Winston. Jeremy Shockey. Santana “Big time players step up in big games” Moss. Clinton Portis. Jonathan Vilma. THOSE ARE GUYS WHO DIDN’T MAKE THE LIST!!!!
Crazy.
Anyways, who’s your favorite player from Miami-FSU? Let me know.

Miami is currently ranked 10th in America in the polls. But, according to SBNation Analytics guru Bill Connelly’s S&P+ ratings, the Canes would be higher if preseason projections weren’t factored into things.
S&P+ top 10 if no preseason projections involved: 1 Oh St, 2 Mich, 3 L’ville, 4 Bama, 5 Wash, 6 Miami, 7 Houston, 8 Clemson, 9 Fla, 10 COLO!
