A key piece in Jacksonville (FL) Trinity Christian’s State Championship team, the 6’3” 190lb Smith picked Miami over 16 other reported offers, including North Carolina, North Carolina State, Kentucky, Mississippi State, and Virginia Tech. Smith ended the 2016 HSFB season with 52 tackles and 3 interceptions on the year.
Smith is the 5th DB prospect committed to Miami in the 2017 recruiting class. He joins 4-stars ATH DeeJay Dallas and CB Trajan Bandy, and 3-stars S Amari Carter and Billy Gibson at this position group in this class.
