In an absolutely massive recruiting win for Miami, 4-star OL Navaughn Donaldson has shut down his recruitment, sticking with the Canes over many teams — namely Florida and Florida State — trying to flip him at the last minute.

Donaldson, the highest rated player in Miami’s 2017 recruiting class, brings a game-ready talent to the offensive line at the position of most dire need: Tackle.
Make no mistake about this: Donaldson is a day 1 starter at Miami. Florida and Florida State tried to make late runs at flipping the Miami (FL) Central star, but in the end, the connection to Mark Richt and staff paid off with them securing a big, BIG man and a massive recruiting win.
This announcement from Donaldson came shortly after Miami added 3-star S Derrick Smith to the 2017 class. Getting and keeping a player of Donaldson’s caliber is huge for Miami. He’s the kind of talent that the Canes need on the Offensive Line, and he immediately upgrades that position. Like I said before, this is huge.
Miami has 22 players in the 2017 recruiting class, but none of them are literally or figuratively bigger than Donaldson.
Great job by the staff to keep him committed.
Now, let’s go add some more guys and get this thing back rolling.
