Finley is a supremely talented player and is the perfect Safety for new DC Manny Diaz's attacking 4-3 scheme. Between Mark Richt, Manny Diaz, and Safeties coach Ephraim Banda, Miami sent plenty of attention towards Finley, and that attention paid off.
This is a big recruiting win for the Canes, as Finley was thought to be a Georgia Tech lean. He selected Miami over GT and Clemson, another team who was recruiting the 6'1" 205lb Finley very hard to help replenish depth and talent in their secondary.
Finley could easily see snaps on special teams as a freshman, and could easily develop into an All-ACC caliber player. When people have talked about recruiting picking up with the new staff, moves like this are exactly what they had in mind.
Finley joins Tyler Byrd, Malek Young, and Cedrick Wright as DB commits in this class.
