Must Reads
Shaquille Quarterman is another big time 4 star prospect.
The Oak Leaf H.S. product has been committed to the 'Canes since June of 2014.
Like Jack Allison and some of the other early enrollees, there is something to be said about his loyalty and commitment to the program.
It's also a plus that he was is on campus already, as given Miami's shaky depth at the LB spot, he could have an impact as soon as 2016.
He's also a heck of a player, who hits like a Mack truck.
At 6'0 230 plus, he's already strong and physical enough to play the run at the D1 level.
He'll need to learn the defense to beat out incumbents like Juwon Young, but there is plenty of reason to be excited about Quarterman for this season and especially down the road.
Take a look for yourself:
Summary: Mark Richt, Manny Diaz, and Co likely want to get back to the days where Miami linebackers did less thinking and more attacking... Sideline to sideline beasts, who were ungodly fast, and brought the hammer when they got there. Quarterman fits this mold. Yes there is more to playing the position than running and hitting. But this kid has the physical skill set and mean streak to be great. I think he ends up as a true "Mike" down the road. But for now, he can at least contribute to special teams and maybe see action at the OLB spot. We'll see. Quarterman is clearly another outstanding pick-up for "The U."
