New Miami Hurricanes coach Mark Richt has a well-earned reputation as a strict disciplinarian. In what seems to be the first move to support that since his hire at Miami, Kicker Jonathan Semerene has reportedly been kicked off the Miami Hurricanes Football Team.
Miami announces in statement from Mark Richt that it has dismissed kicker Jon Semerene "for conduct detrimental to the team and to others."

Breaking: @CanesFootball kicker Jon Semerene arrested for DUI, dismissed from team per @MarkRicht

Semerene, a junior from Weston's Cypress Bay High School, served as the Kickoff specialist for the Canes in 2015. Per the tweet by Susan Miller Degnan of the Miami Herald, Semerene was booted for a DUI arrest.
With Michael Badgley and Justin Vogel as the kicking specialists, losing Semerene isn't a crippling blow for the team. It does lessen the depth some, but with 2 All-ACC players there, one should be able to step up as the KO specialist.
More on this as it's available.
