As reports of non-conference college hoops games have been coming out for many teams, one has also been released for the Miami Hurricanes.
Miami will host Rutgers in next season's ACC/Big Ten Challenge, sources told @CBSSports.— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) May 23, 2016
So, Coach L's Canes will host Rutgers in the ACC/B1G challenge this year. After beating Nebraska in Lincoln last year, the Canes finally get a home game in this conference showcase.
On the heels of the 3rd trip to the Sweet 16 in program history, Miami looks to reload with a new set of players going to the forefront. PG Ja'Quan Newton will be the maestro conducting the Canes' offense, and wings Anthony Lawrence, Rashad Muhammad, and Davon Reed will look to add to the scoring punch.
Miami will also be adding the best recruiting class in program history for this year, with combo guard Bruce Brown, PF Dewan Huell, C Rodney Miller, and G Dejan Vasiljevich joining the team.
Rutgers is a major conference team looking to reestablish themselves as a top program. They will have a tough task coming to Coral Gables to play at the BUC. I expect this game to be a tight one, with Miami coming out victorious in the end.
There will be more about this game, and the full 2016-17 Canes Hoops season in the weeks and months to come.
