A top player from a top HS program, 5-star WR Trevon Grimes has been heavily recruited for more than 2 years. On Monday evening, Grimes released his list of the top 6 schools for his recruitment, a list that included the Miami Hurricanes.

Grimes, a 6'4" standout from St. Thomas Aquinas, is an elite prospect by many measures. He has great size for the WR position, an impressive catch radius, and very good speed and acceleration. All of those traits together are what make Grimes such a highly sought after prospect.
An Indiana native who moved to South Florida only a short time ago, Grimes has long been thought to be a HEAVY lean toward Ohio State. While there has been talk that several teams, including Miami, have made a run toward getting Grimes in their recruiting class, the prevailing thought at this time is that he would be headed to Columbus if National Signing Day were today.
With 3 WRs committed in the 2017 class (4-star DeeJay Dallas, 3-star Rodney Scott, and 3-star Kevaughn Dingle), Miami could use a top end talent like Grimes to round out the group. He is one of several WRs that Miami is chasing, but without a doubt one of the top options on the board at current.
Right now, we know for sure that Miami is in the battle for Grimes with the announcement of this top 6. Where we go from here remains to be seen.
To get a better idea of the kind of player Grimes can be, take a look at his HUDL highlights below.
