Miami landed two really good quarterbacks in the 2017 class with Tampa (Fla.) Cade Weldon and Ocala (Fla.) N’Kosi Perry. However, Miami is chasing the top pro-style QB in the 2018 class, Old Bridge (NJ.) Arthur Sitkowski.
Back in late July, from the 26th to the 27th, Sitkowski had a chance to hang around the Miami coaching staff and tour the campus. When the top 247Sports pro-style quarterback arrived on campus, he didn’t know much about the Canes. But that changed when his visit was all said and done.
“My visit went great, got to see everything the program had to offer as well as the campus and academics,” Sitkowski said about his Miami visit. “I also came back the next day to watch the team run and lift and got to talk to Coach Richt.”
During his visit, he had a chance to finally talk and meet with Mark Richt. The Canes, led by Richt made Sitkowski feel like a top priority.
“I have a good relationship with Coach Richt, I believe it will get stronger the more the recruiting process gets going.”
After a successful visit to Miami, it looks like the Canes will be a factor for Sitkowski until the end of his recruitment. That says a lot because he has taken visits to Florida, Ohio State, Michigan, Boston College, South Carolina, North Carolina and Rutgers.
“I like Miami alot, they have great tradition with winning and success with players going to the league. I don't have a leader, but they are definitely a top school. Florida, Wisconsin, South Carolina, North Carolina, Maryland and Michigan are also high on my list.”
Sitkowski has confirmed that he will announce his commitment at the end of the spring evaluation next year. The good thing for Miami fans is he plans to visit Miami at least one more time before he announces his commitment.
“I plan to announce my commitment at the end of spring evaluation next year. Not sure when I’ll visit Miami again, but I will for sure visit them one more time before I make my decision.”
The Canes look to be in really good position to land a commitment from Sitkowski. Depsite Michigan and Florida looking like the two front-runners, Miami appears to be right on their heels. Miami fans know what happended the last time they landed a top-rated pro-style quarterback in Brad Kaaya. Could Sitkowski be the next great Miami quarterback?
