Miami lands a commitment from 2017 DL Jonathan Garvin! Massive get

Jonathan Garvin is Miami's second commitment at defensive end. Has been a fast riser this summer with FSU and MSU offers. 6-4, 225-pounds

2017 4* Oxbridge Academy DE Jonathan Garvin has committed to Miami. Comes as a surprise as most thought he was a Clemson lean.

This is a big get for the Canes, as they are looking to round out their defensive line class in 2017. Garvin, who recently transferred back to his home school of Lake Worth from Oxbridge Academy after the spring, has seen his recruiting profile rise in recent months. After several strong camp showings, including at Florida State, he's become one of the most highly coveted players at his position in South Florida.
Like that pickup of Jonathan Garvin for Miami. Quick pass rusher with room to grow.

The 6'4" 220lb Garvin is a player with a lot of talent. He will join 4-star DJ Johnson at DE in the 2017 recruiting class, and gives Miami another player who can be a high quality pass rusher for the Canes down the line. Garvin, who was thought to possibly be a Clemson lean as indicated by a tweet above, gives Miami a very talented bookend combo at DE in 2017. This is a big get for the Canes, make no doubt about it.
Garvin is the 19th commitment for the Canes in 2017. He chose Miami over 20 other offers, including Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, and Mississippi State. You can see his HUDL highlights below.
