CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Following its 38-10 win over FAU this past Saturday, the University of Miami football team earned a No. 25 ranking in the Amway Coaches Poll on Sunday.
The Hurricanes also maintained their No. 25 ranking in the Associated Press Poll, marking the first time Miami has been ranked in both polls since Nov. 16, 2013.
Miami has outscored its opponents by a combined score of 108-13. The Hurricanes’ 108 points in their first two games are a school record.
The Hurricanes return to action on Saturday as they travel to Boone, N.C., to take on Appalachian State for their first road game of the 2016 season. Kickoff is set for Noon on ESPN.
Our Take: This is a nice accomplishment just 2 games into the Mark Richt era, but it’s way too soon to get excited. UM still has FSU (#2 in both polls), UNC, and Notre Dame (#18 in both polls) to contend with down the line. If they are ranked at season’s end, they will have earned it.
