Billionaire Jeffrey Soffer and his siblings have come together to pledge $14M as the lead gift for the Indoor Practice Facility. This lead gift was the last remaining hurdle needed before today’s announcement. Now that it’s come, the Carol Soffer IPF will be built on the University of Miami Campus.

.@CanesFootball indoor practice facility will be named after Carol Soffer, Jeffrey Soffer's mother. Nice woman.

In addition to being the mother of the lead donors, Mrs. Soffer is a big time Canes fan. From the Miami Athletics release:
“I’ve been a passionate supporter of the University of Miami Athletics Department for over 20 years, and I’m honored that my family and I can be part of this tremendous project,” Carol Soffer said. “The football indoor practice facility will bring a new dimension to the University. It will have a lasting effect on all student-athletes now and in the future.”

This new facility will house 2 fields — an 80 yard field and a 40 yard field — along with connecting to the Squillante Strength and Conditioning Center, 20,000 sq ft Football Operations office, with coaches offices overlooking the IPF fields. There will also be 6 position meeting rooms, the Head Coaches suite, 3 coaches conference room, a “first class” recruiting suite with lounges and meeting rooms, and a state-of-the-art video center.
Yeah. This thing is going to be NICE!
Want a virtual walkthrough of the 81,800 sq ft facility? Look no further.
