Miami Hurricanes end season ranked 20th by Associated Press

This feels right

NCAA Football: Russell Athletic Bowl-West Virginia vs Miami Jonathan Dyer-USA TODAY Sports

Following Clemson’s win over Alabama in the College Football Playoff Championship game, the Associated Press released their final top 25 rankings of the 2016 season. And, in these rankings, the Miami Hurricanes checked in at #20 in the country.

After dismantling West Virginia 31-14 in the Russell Athletic Bowl, Miami finished the year 9-4 and worthy of a top 25 ranking. Notable teams around Miami in the rankings:

  • West Virginia (18th) — yeah, riiiiiight. We blew them out but they’re above us. And miss me with “They won 10 games”. WVU didn’t play anybody of note/who’s good, and when they did (Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Miami), those teams beat them by a combined score of 124-62. SO THEY GOT DOUBLED UP BY TEAMS WHO WERE GOOD!! I REST MY CASE!!!!
  • USF (19th)
  • Lousiville (21st) — who would have thought Miami would end the year ranked ahead of Louisville in October?!
  • Tennessee (22nd) — hahahaha suck it, Butch Jones!

Miami is one of 5 ACC teams to end the year ranked. Joining Miami in the AP top 25 are National Champions Clemson (1), FSU (8), Virginia Tech (16), and Louisville (21).

All in all, after the year we saw that Miami Hurricanes have in 2016, a top 20 ranking to end the season, especially after who the Canes demolished #12 WVU in the bowl game, is fair.

Now, to use this as a stepping stone to bigger, better things.
