On Tuesday afternoon, NFL draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL network released his top 50 NFL Draft Prospects

You won’t have to look far down this list to find a Miami Hurricanes player. Coming in at #13 on Jeremiah’s list is none other than Canes TE David Njoku. Not only is Njoku a top 15 prospect in Jeremiah’s eyes, but he’s far and away the #1 TE prospect in this draft, hailed as having one of the strongest crops of TEs in many years. While some have Alabama TE OJ Howard rated higher than Njoku, Jeremiah has the good sense to get this ranking right.
Many people have said Njoku will be the first TE taken in the 2017 NFL Draft. While I was hesitant to join them in this thought — not because Njoku isn’t the best prospect (I believe he is), but due to the “stardom” of Howard (which is only by virtue of the fact that he played at Alabama, but that’s a discussion for another time — I am now hopeful that this will be the case.
Njoku is the only Canes player listed in Jeremiah’s top 50 prospects. While that is the case, I still expect both QB Brad Kaaya and CB Corn Elder to get serious looks as 2nd round draft picks.
Did Jeremiah get it right? Did he get it wrong? Hop in the comments and let me know your thoughts.
