Miami added a GREAT piece to the OL class on Wednesday night when 4-star OL Kai-Leon Herbert committed to the Canes
Blessed beyond measure to announce that I HAVE OFFICIALLY COMMITTED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI ‼️ God got us from here on out . pic.twitter.com/CxW6OqzDUH

This standout player from Plantation (FL) American Heritage is a huge, HUGE get for Miami. He joins 4 other players committed at this position in this class, and could arguably be the most game-ready player committed along the OL.
A former Michigan commit, Herbert decommitted from Jim Harbaugh’s team the day after taking an Official Visit to Miami. After being considered the longtime favorites to flip Herbert, Florida’s pursuit of the 6’4” 285lb OT fell on hard times recently, as well. Herbert, who was scheduled to visit Gainesville on January 27th, canceled that visit on Wednesday, met with Miami coach Mark Richt during an in-home visit, and the tweeted the above commitment to Miami.
I can’t overstate this enough: THIS IS A HUGE GET FOR MIAMI!!!! Not only is Herbert a player with the talent to compete for a starting spot from Day 1, he also ends a streak of YEARS of Miami not being able to get any traction with top players from a local powerhouse program: American Heritage.
OK enough talking. HUDL highlights are here. Feast your eyes.
