Canes are currently ranked no. 17 in the USA Today poll, but many see them anywhere from a top-5 team to the eighth-ranked team.

The Canes look to have yet another successful season. With an abundance of top-ranked opponents, the Canes look to prove all the haters wrong and have an amazing season.

But being amazing will have to come with new players, as the Canes lost starters, Zack Collins, Jacob Heyward, and Willie Abreu. Losing everyday players like those three will be really tough, but the Canes will have to work through it with a young roster. Head Coach Jim Morris will have to work with his young roster in order to make a trip to Omaha. Losing key players will be a tough transition but is definitely something that Coach Morris and the Canes can handle.

Here is the official press release from UM:

The young Canes will open up their season in about three weeks, and this week was their first week of practice.
