Miami Hurricanes Rooting Guide: Week 7

Miami isn’t back just yet, but the rooting guide is

Miami v Florida State
TALLAHASSEE, FL- OCTOBER 7: Head coach Mark Richt of the Miami Hurricanes celebrates after they defeated the Florida State Seminoles 24-20 during the second half of an NCAA football game at Doak S. Campbell Stadium on October 7, 2017 in Tallahassee, Florida.

The Miami Hurricanes Rooting Guide makes its return post Florida State week. Here is who to root for in every ACC game this week.

Friday, October 13

#2 Clemson at Syracuse, 7:00 PM (ESPN)

The Tigers might be without starting QB Kelly Bryant, but that shouldn’t prevent Clemson from clobbering the Orange. Miami fans want Syracuse, New York to become upset city for the night, but that seems unlikely. Rooting for Cuse would not only bolster Syracuse’s résumé, but also give NC State a chance to win the Atlantic Division, potentially setting up a winnable game for Miami in the ACC Championship.

Saturday, October 14

#20 NC State at Pittsburgh, 12:00 PM (ACC Network)

Common thinking would be root for the team that plays Miami later in the season, however, in this case Canes’ faithful should be cheering on NC State. The Wolfpack have become a real threat in the Atlantic and only have Clemson in their way from making the ACC Championship. If the Pack can continue to roll and stay undefeated in ACC play, and Miami takes care of business on their end, it could set up a very competitive ACC title game come December.

Florida State at Duke, 12:00 PM (ESPN)

Miami has faced Florida State and Duke this season and came away with victories in both contests. This game is almost irrelevant to the Canes at this point, but FSU is playing so we all know how Miami fans are going to root in this one. Go Blue Devils.

Boston College at Louisville, 12:20 PM (ACC Network)

Another game that has little to no impact on Miami’s season, but who doesn’t love a good upset? Its the battle of the birds and Hurricanes’ fanatics could cheer either way. Do you want the upset or do you want to make the ACC appear as a stronger conference. Take your pick, it is your call.

Virginia at North Carolina, 3:30 PM (ACC Network)

Two teams the Hurricanes play in the upcoming weeks of the season square off in this matchup. The Tar Heels have struggled mightily this year after losing Mitchell Trubisky to the NFL, while the Cavaliers have put together a respectable campaign. In what should be a close game, root for UNC to capture their first conference victory of the season.

Georgia Tech at #11 Miami, 3:30 PM (ABC)

The Hurricanes are coming off their first win over Florida State in eight years. Miami is banged up, but should step up to the plate and handle the Yellow Jackets at home. This is State of The U after all, so obviously go Canes.

The ACC doesn’t compete in any night caps so it’ll be a jam packed Saturday afternoon. Let the college football season continue to roll.
