Hello friends! Let’s start your Monday with some Miami Hurricanes News and Notes, shall we?

Miami Hurricanes beat Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, move to 5-0

There is one undefeated ACC team: the Miami Hurricanes. After beating a game Georgia Tech team, the Canes are 5-0 and 3-0 in the ACC and in sole possession of first place. Not just in the Coastal Division, in the entire conference.

To recap the game, we had a bunch of great stuff. Here’s the list

And, as detailed in several of the pieces above, shoutout to the Canes’ D for holding Georgia Tech way, WAY under their season averages on pretty much every offensive stat.

Yeah, that should be enough to get you caught up on Saturday’s action.

Miami ranked 7th, 8th in this week’s polls

At 5-0 (3-0), the Miami Hurricanes are one of only 8 teams in CFB that are undefeated to this point of the season. Riding a 10 game winning streak (dating back to last season), the Canes are now firmly ranked in the top 10 of both polls.

That’s awesome! I’m very happy that Miami is ranked at a level commensurate with their performance and achievement (WINNING EVERY GAME THEY’VE PLAYED THIS SEASON) to this point of the schedule.

But, that’s not the goal. That’s not the end of the road. This team will likely be favored in every remaining game on the schedule, and the solid play, AND WINNING, needs to continue. So yes, I’m happy Miami is ranked in the top 10 for the first time in recent years, but I’m not satisfied.

We got more work to do so let’s get to it.

On Deck: Syracuse Orange

Coming to Hard Rock Stadium next Saturday are the Syracuse Orange. Coming off a huge, HUGE win over #2 Clemson — the defending CFB National Champions — will likely buoy Syracuse as they prepare of this week’s game.

This game has been previously announced as a 3:30pm kick, but the University of Miami announced that TV coverage will be on ESPN for this week’s game.

To those asking, no, I don’t know what jersey combination Miami is wearing this week. But I do know that the game is on Saturday at 3:30pm and you need to be there.

Oh, and FYI, Miami opened as a 14.5 point favorite over Syracuse per VegasInsider. That’s a big number. Just look at it for now. We’ll talk about it throughout the week.
