In standard Thursday form, the University of Miami announced this week’s injury report ahead of the road game at North Carolina. Here it is, from Miami Athletics:
Miami Football Injury Report
Miami vs. North Carolina
October 28, 2017PROBABLE
DB Dee Delaney (right lower extremity)
.....THAT’S IT!!!!!
This is GREAT NEWS! Gone from the injury report is OL Navaughn Donaldson, who has been back at practice this week for the Canes.
Also, upgraded from OUT last week to PROBABLE (the best listing possible on the injury report) is CB Dee Delaney. Getting him back on the field, even in limited snaps, ahead of key games against Virginia Tech and Notre Dame would be huge for Miami.
Also, players who had previously been listed on the injury report such as S Sheldrick Redwine and WR Ahmmon Richards are again unlisted, which should point to them fully recovering from their previous injuries and being healthy for this week’s game.
Donaldson’s return to action (according to the released injury report) and Delaney’s upgraded status means that Miami is close to full health. With no bye week until the end of the regular season, this is a welcomed sight, to be sure.
And, before people go crazy, the players previously listed as out for the year (LB Jamie Gordinier, WR Evidence Njoku, and RB Mark Walton) are still out for the year. So, don’t read into the fact that they’re not listed here. They’re still out.
If Delaney plays this week, and there’s no injuries in this game, we COULD be a week away from an empty injury report with only a month left in the regular season.
That’ll work.
