After getting a huge win Miami looks to move up in the Third College Football Playoff Poll.
The Selection Show begins after the first college basketball game on ESPN tonight (more in the TV Info section below). Miami should be looking at a Top 4 Ranking, and has the best SOR in the NCAA. SOR is very important for the committee’s rankings. Miami also has more FPI Top 50 wins than anyone who isn’t Clemson. Miami is also among the leaders in the nation in nearly every defensive category.
With Miami beating two Top 15 teams in consecutive weeks by a combined score of 69-18, and several other highly ranked teams ahead of them losing this past weekend, Miami will likely be ranked in the Top 4 of the College Football Playoff Poll for the first time in program history. Miami is projected to be #2, but an argument could easily be made that they should beat Alabama to be #1, or that they could be anywhere else in the Top 5-6, in fact you can read our piece on that below:
No matter what I expect this to be a good night for the program...
Head to the comments below to talk with us at SOTU and fellow fans as the rankings are revealed...
A little weird this week, the rankings are in between the two college basketball games on ESPN tonight, they are projected to be carried at about 9:00 p.m, but it could shift around from 8:45-9:15.
Anywhere from 8:45-9:15 ESPN.
