On Tuesday evening, the fourth version of the College Football Playoff rankings were released. These rankings are the ones that matter from here on out, as the teams who play for a National Championship in the College Football Playoff are determined by this set of rankings.
Entering today’s announcement, the Hurricanes were ranked 2nd in the Coaches Poll and 2nd in the AP Poll for the 2nd consecutive week. At 10-0, the Canes are 1 of just 4 teams Nationally with an undefeated record to this point of the season (Alabama, Wisconsin, and UCF being the other 3 undefeated teams).
For their efforts and following a 44-28 win over a tough but overmatched Virginia Cavaliers team on Saturday at Noon, the Hurricanes moved up to 2nd in this week’s College Football Playoff Rankings.

Finally, Miami gets some respect from the CFP Committee.
Miami has the #1 strength of record as of today (per the ESPN broadcast) and has been playing very, very strong football the last month.
After last week where they got things wrong, the Committee got this ranking right.
However, it should be noted that all of this would be for naught if Miami were to lose a game. So, to keep things where they need to be, Miami needs to beat Pittsburgh at NOON on Friday, and enter the ACC Championship game vs Clemson undefeated.
Hell yeah. WOOOO!!!
