Miami Hurricanes Football: Despite late loss, Miami still controls their own destiny.

Miami can still enter the playoffs despite loss to Pitt.

NCAA Football: Miami at Florida State Melina Vastola-USA TODAY Sports

Last weekend Miami had a chance to end their regular season undefeated for the first time since 2002. They came out with a lackluster performance and got upset on the road by Pittsburgh.

The entire world has been waiting all year for Miami to finally fall flat on their face and show their true colors as pretenders in the College Football Playoff conversation. Miami has been escaping close games against sub-par teams all year, and the bad habit of playing down to the competition finally caught up to them. The trolls finally came out from hiding and really let Miami have it on Twitter.

The “L” Chain:

Crying Jordan Turnover Chain:

Fake Pitt Chain:

If this isn’t enough to get you motivated to beat Clemson, I don’t know what will.

Despite such a disappointing end to such an amazing regular season, the Hurricanes are still in control of their own destiny. While most teams that lose this late in the season are usually eliminated from the CFP, a win in the ACC Championship against Clemson will put Miami right back in it. There is no way the committee will leave out a 1 loss ACC champion with a win against the #1 team (potentially).

So while the haters and trolls are out posting pictures of fake turnover chains and Jordan crying faces, and the media and coaches are giving Miami no respect (only 1 All-ACC 1st team selection congrats Michael Badgley), they are helping fuel the fire for Miami. This Miami team seems to thrive when their backs are up against the wall and it’s them against the world. No one is expecting Miami to win this game, but if they bring it on Saturday night, they will prove the world wrong once again.
