“I think we have three terrific perimeter players” in Ja’Quan Newton, Bruce Brown and D.J. Vasiljevic, Head Coach Jim Larranaga said. “They all bring something a little bit different to the table.”

Reserves

Lonnie Walker IV 6-4 192 Fr.

Walker is an athletic freshman who can score the ball. He was a McDonald’s All-American and returns after to the team tearing his meniscus. He should be a bright spot in the offense.

Chris Lykes 5-7 160 Fr.

Lykes is an electric flyer who will be fun to watch. “Chris will add a lot of hype,” Larranaga said. “He’s nice, quick, short.”

Mike Robinson 5-10 170 Jr.

Robinson saw action in nine games last season. The guard hopes to see my action this year.

Miles Wilson 6-5 190 So.

Wilson is a transfer from Mount St. Mary’s. The combo-guard helped lead Mount St. Mary’s to the NCAA tournament. He averaged 11.8 points and 3.9 rebounds during his freshman campaign. Wilson is redshirting this season per NCAA transfer rules.

Bottom Line

Miami has a talented group of players that can put points on the board. The veterans and newcomers can all team up to produce quality wins against top competition in the ACC and help Miami emerge as a perennial contender in the conference.
