Miami Hurricanes G Bruce Brown was ruled out of the recent game against Boston University. Fans didn't notice until about an hour before tip when the star guard came out for warmups in street clothes and wrist brace.
Update: Bruce Brown Jr. is wearing sweats and is NOT warming up for Miami. The sophomore guard is sporting a black brace on his left wrist. No official word on Brown Jr. from UM.— Josh White (@_JoshRWhite) December 5, 2017
No. 10 Canes host Boston University tonight at 7 p.m.
Fans always wondered when we would see the Lonnie Walker in Lonnie Walker. To his credit, he likely is just now approaching 100 percent recovery from his meniscus injury in the offseason.
While Larranaga casually said Walker “just looked like Lonnie Walker to me,” he did proclaim that “this is just the beginning.” This was Walker’s first start at the University of Miami.
“The rim got bigger and the ball got smaller,” said Walker postgame. Walker had 26 points while going 5-7 beyond the arc.
Bruce Brown Jr. will miss 2-3 weeks, per Jim Larrañaga. The sophomore guard hurt his hand couple weeks back and reaggravated the injury against Minnesota.— Josh White (@_JoshRWhite) December 6, 2017
With Brown out potentially until near the start of conference play, the Canes need to see the Lonnie Walker we've all been waiting for in Brown’s absence. This is now his moment.
