Just minutes before Miami’s home game against Georgia Tech, the University of Miami announced that starting PG Ja’Quan Newton has been suspended for 3 games for violation of team rules.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami junior point guard Ja’Quan Newton has been suspended for three basketball games for a violation of team rules, the school announced Wednesday.

So, in the middle of a tough February stretch, the already-thin Canes will be without their starting PG and 2nd leading scorer (15.0 ppg) for the next 3 games.
