Coach Mark Richt’s influence spreads wide and far, just look at this map of his 2017 recruiting class for The U.
It’s a thing of beauty. A little State of Florida domination, with some rest-of-the-country sprinkled in. Just how it should be.
Fifteen out of the Hurricanes’ 24 total commits are in-state signees, including the hopeful (likely) ‘QB of the Future’ in 4-Star N’Kosi Perry. In terms of the caliber of in-state recruits compared to the caliber of those out-of-state, the best way to describe it is: A pleasant mix. Six out the 10 recruits deemed worthy of 4-Stars come from the homeland.
Have no fear, the out-of-state crew is no slouch either. Linebacker Deonte “DJ” Johnson, the single most-offered player in the entire United States, was so fond of mosquito bites and humid air that he’s making the trek all the way from Sacramento to become a Cane. That’s called love, people. True love.
Get all groovy and interactive with this map, I won’t judge you. More National Signing Day analysis from the SOTU team below.
