Many people have been wondering when the Miami Hurricanes would announce the Spring Football Schedule. The answer came on Wednesday afternoon in a release from Miami Athletics.

Here is the schedule in the release from UM Athletics:

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami football program announced its 2017 spring practice schedule Wednesday.

The Hurricanes kick off spring practice on Tuesday, March 21. Below is the list of the 13 practice sessions that are open to the media.

· Thursday, March 23 (9:30 a.m.)

· Saturday, March 25 (9:30 a.m.)

· Tuesday, March 28 (9:30 a.m.)

· Saturday, April 22 (12 p.m.)*

*The April 22 practice session will be held at Boca Raton High School (1501 NW 15th Ct, Boca Raton, FL 33486). All other practice sessions will be held at Greentree Practice Fields.

All spring practices will be closed to the public. Miami will not host a spring game due to the ongoing renovations at Hard Rock Stadium.

Some quick thoughts

  • Closed practice is standard.
  • Sucks that there isn’t a single open practice/scrimmage this spring.
  • The April 22nd practice/scrimmage/whatever at Boca Raton HS had been rumored for a while and is on the books.
  • Miami will not host a traditional spring game as previously reported and stated in the release.
  • There had been talk of 3 scrimmages/open practice sessions during spring camp, one in each of the 3 counties that make up South Florida: Miami-Dade County, Broward County, and Palm Beach County. Unless that is announced in a subsequent release, the only part of that which will be the case is the practice at Boca Raton HS, which like all others is CLOSED to public.

So, there you have it. Your 2017 Spring Football Schedule.

Comment away.
