The Hurricanes look to get back to above .500 this week, and look to continue the good momentum after several solid wins this past weekend.
Here is Last Week’s Recap:
MidWeek Series - vs Maine Black Bears
The Hurricanes already took Game 1 of the series vs the Black Bears, and look to see more of the same tonight in the second game.
Miami’s talent far outclasses that of Maine, and the hitting problem appears to be fixed.
A sweep in this series would put the ‘Canes one game away from .500 heading into the weekend, and hopefully this series will keep the momentum going into the ACC series this weekend.

Weekend Series: @ North Carolina State Wolfpack
The Hurricanes hit the road for the first time in the ACC this weekend.
This series will most likely come down to which version of the Hurricanes show up.
Miami has been very inconsistent this season, and how this series goes will depend on whether or not the strong hitting can show up again, and whether or not the pitching staff can regain their control after last weekend.
Overall Miami has more talent on the roster, and if they can continue their solid performances at the plate and stay hot, and if the pitching staff can regain the control they had throughout the first couple of series, the Hurricanes could be a serious threat in the ACC.
Miami has to prove that this weekend however. Getting another ACC series win would show that the success Miami had last week was no fluke, and that they can be a serious contender in ACC play.
This weekend it would be nice to see Jesse Lepore fix his control issues in his start on Friday. Last weekend he left most of his pitches far too high in the zone, and hopefully he will regain his form that he had at the beginning of the season. Albert Maury Jr. has also struggled in his last two appearances, and hopefully Jim Morris can put him in a comfortable situation so that he can shake the memories of his last two starts.
I really don’t know what to expect from this series, it all depends on which version of the Hurricanes travels to NC State. I do think the Hurricanes will come out on the good side of this series because the bats have stayed warm throughout all of the games last weekend and through the first midweek game this week.
Prediction:
Hurricanes win series 2-1.
