The Hurricanes’ 2018 recruiting class is off to a blazing start with commitments from guys like RB Lorenzo Lingard, RB Camron Davis, QB Artur Sitowski and DB Josh Jobe. With three of those commitments being somewhat recent, it is understandable that those are the players people are talking about.
Then there is Daquris Wiggins, a receiver out of Miami Southridge who pledged to Miami back in October 2015. Listed at 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, Wiggins has the size to potentially be a well-rounded possession receiver at the college level.
Like many prospects, his rating is different on most recruiting sites. 247Sports and ESPN have him listed as a 4-star, while Rivals considers him a 3-star. Going forward, it would not be wrong to think that Wiggins will end up a 4-star on Rivals as well.
When watching his highlights, it is clear that he is elite when it comes going up and bringing the football down. He uses his size well, which allows him to hold of the smaller defender while making the catch.
Not only is he talented, but he is also recruiting one of the best players in South Florida, his teammate, WR Mark Pope.
Check out his junior highlights and leave your thoughts in the comment section.
