This would be HUGE.
First off, Alabama has been the dominant team in CFB over the last decade, so playing the best would undoubtedly be a marquee matchup.
Futhermore, this is would renew a matchup that has been played in the past, with several of these games impacting or outright determining the National Championship.
I’ve talked about the strength of Miami’s non-conference schedule in future years before, but adding Alabama would be the biggest addition to the schedule in YEARS. With LSU (2018), Florida (2019), Michigan State (2020 and 2021), Texas A&M (2022 and 2023) and Notre Dame (2024 and 2025) already on the books for future years, the schedule is already strong and could get even stronger.
As far as the reportedly potential 2021 kickoff classic vs Alabama: SIGN. ME. UP.
