On Monday afternoon, the preseason AP Top 25 poll was released. In this poll, the University of Miami Hurricanes were ranked 18th overall to start the 2017 college football season.

This ranking of 18th is consistent with where Miami ended the 2016 season, and is the exact same ranking that was given to the Canes in the initial Amway Coaches Poll on August 3rd.
This is the first time the Canes have been ranked in the season-opening AP poll since 2010. With a program that is looking for many recent firsts after a very, very tough decade on the field, this will hopefully portend of great things to come in the near future.
Much like I said about being ranked in the Coaches Poll, this is a good thing, but there is work to be done. And I, for one, am very ready to see what the 2017 season has in store for the Canes.
Nice work, now let’s grind.
