Day 4 was an unfortunate day for the Canes. All-American wide-receiver Ahmmon Richards was removed from practice due to a possible concussion, and budding-star linebacker Michael Pinckney also sat out due to a hamstring issue.
In other injury news tight-end Michael Irvin II sat out due to a few health concerns, right now tight-end depth could be worrying. Irvin II is currently third-string behind walk-on Malik Curry.
In other news walk-on wide-receiver Malik Mayweather (31) was put on scholarship directly after practice today. This shouldn’t have a huge affect on scholarship numbers, as Mayweather is expected to graduate this winter.
Jeff Thomas appears to be an early riser in camp so far, with coaches praising him nearly every day for his quickness and speed, with several reporters also noting that he should be an early contributor.

Hopefully the injury bug goes away, although most seem to not be too serious. The Canes hit the field again Saturday.
