After an exciting week one of high school football loaded with nationally-ranked thrillers and upsets, things slow down for week two. To quickly recap last week (for Carter's full recap, click here), Hurricane commits Brevin Jordan, Artur Sitkowski & Brian Hightower, and Al Blades Jr. all helped lead their teams to major early-season victories against national powerhouses. This week, not only do they look to grow their teams' early season win streak, but others such as Camron Davis look to help their team rebound.
Camron Davis

After last week's 6-2 loss against Deerfield Beach, Davis and the Carol City Chiefs need to bounce back. Unfortunately, it won't be easy as they play one of South Florida's finest, Columbus High School. Davis recorded a lackluster 12 yards on 10 carries, and with 2019 Running Back Nayquan Wright sharing carries, it's more important than ever for Davis to have a good showing. With an anticipated loss against IMG Academy and then an upset against Deerfield Beach, another loss this Friday can suck the soul out of Carol City.
Nesta Silvera

Last week, Nesta Silvera and American Heritage Plantation got a hard-earned 14-7 victory against Bishop Sullivan Catholic (VA). They have to keep the momentum from last week, though, as Nevada's runner-up to Bishop Gorman, Liberty (NV) comes to town. Silvera had many key stops last week, including a critical 4th down stop, and needs to keep it up to get another victory for the Patriots.
Artur Sitkowski & Brian Hightower

Last Saturday, Artur Sitkowski was able to rebound from an average at-best performance against Carol City and dominate nationally-ranked Chandler (AZ) 27-14. This week, IMG and the Ascenders look to keep the momentum as they play nationally-ranked Centennial High School (CA). Sitkowski made noise last week, but Hightower so far hasn't wowed anyone away, so look for Hightower to eventually explode.
GAME OF THE WEEK: Brevin Jordan

After a nationally-televised win against Maryland's number one ranked team, Dematha Catholic, can Jordan and Bishop Gorman continue the streak against Mater Dei? Jordan was a crucial part of last week's success for the Gaels, finding the end-zone and even converting on a late two-point conversion. Even though Dematha Catholic put up a noble fight, Mater Dei is one of Gorman's toughest tests this season. What makes Mater Dei California's best? JT Daniels. The 2019 5-Star USC Quarterback commit has made the best of defenses look silly, and with a slew of weapons at Daniels' disposal, it might overmatch and end the 55 game win streak of Bishop Gorman.
