Miami Hurricanes Football: WR Dayall Harris suspended 3 games

Bad roster news just minutes before Miami-Duke kicks off

NCAA Football: Pittsburgh at Miami Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Just minutes before Miami’s ACC opener vs Duke was scheduled to kick off, the University of Miami announced WR Dayall Harris has been suspended 3 games for violation of team rules.

Here’s the release from Miami Athletics:

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami football program announced Friday that wide receiver Dayall Harris will be withheld from the next three games for violation of team rules, starting with tonight’s game at Duke.

Harris, a redshirt junior from Jackson, Miss., has two catches for 16 yards and one touchdown this season.

Coming off a game where he had a TD catch, Harris is a talented player who is still trying to find a consistent role at Miami. He will depart the lineup, which hurts depth at the receiver position. Luckily for Miami, superstar WR Ahmmon Richards is slated to make his season debut tonight after dealing with a hamstring injury for the first 2 games.

Losing Harris for 3 games sucks, but Miami is more than capable of replacing his production in the lineup
