At 6’2” 234lb, Hodges has similar measurements to 2018 TE signee Brevin Jordan, so there’s precedence for taking a player of this size at this position for Miami. Miami visited Hodges last week when making the rounds in recruiting school visits, and that was followed up by Hodges taking an unofficial to Coral Gables today, which resulted in this commitment.
For Miami, the Canes keep stacking chips in the next recruiting class. Hodges is the 9th commitment and 1st TE in Miami’s 2019 recruiting class. He picked Miami over early offers from Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, and others.
