Welcome to the U, Cameron Williams

On Saturday afternoon, the Miami Hurricanes picked up a big 2019 commit when DE Cameron Williams (great name) flipped his pledge from the Florida Gators to the Canes.

At 6’5” 215lbs, Williams has good height and length at DE, with the frame to add weight. Another local standout, Williams is a top notch player whose addition to Miami’s class, and subtraction from Florida’s class, is a double win for the Canes.

Since Williams committed to Florida in the summer of 2017, Miami had been pushing hard for the talented DE to flip. After many visits, including an unofficial visit to Miami’s Coral Gables campus on Saturday, their wish came true and Williams joined the good guys.

Already hard at work in the 2019 recruiting class, Williams is the 10th commit for Miami in that group. He is the 1st defensive end and 3rd defensive lineman to commit to Miami for next cycle, joining DTs Denzel Daxon and Renato Brown (though Brown could play OL or DL) in that group.

For a look at Williams on the field, here are his HUDL highlights for your viewing pleasure.
