We all know that Chad Thomas is an amazing talent, and wreaked havoc for the Hurricanes for 4 years. With the Hurricanes having very mediocre years prior to this season, Thomas has really flown under the radar as a draft prospect. With Miami getting so much national attention this season, people started to learn the name.
Thomas has great size and speed for a defensive end, who could potentially rush from the DT position in certain defensive schemes. While names like Bradley Chubb and Arden Key dominated the DL talk in draft conversations, Thomas earned an invite to the East-West Shrine Game which is a great opportunity to show what you have against top talent.
Thomas has been the talk of the game and plenty of scouts have considered him the best prospect there.

His name stood out before the week. Strong chance of being the top prospect here.

His performance was so good that it earned him an invite to the Reese Senior Bowl.

The one knock on Chad Thomas that seems to be a common theme is his effort/love for the game. As you may know, Thomas has a potentially excellent future in the music business and has worked with some big names including Rick Ross. These pre-draft games are a good opportunity for Thomas to show NFL teams that he is serious about an NFL career.
I personally think the talent is too much and will trump any ideas of him not being serious about the game. With a strong showing at the Senior Bowl, he could possible creep into some 1st rounder conversations, but mostly likely his destination will be between the 2nd and 3rd round.
Note: Look out for Braxton Berrios and Michael Badgley to also improve their draft stock with a strong performance at the Senior Bowl.
