Last week: 5-3 single games; 0-1 parlays; 0-2 teasers
Overall single games: 38-31
Lockity Lock Hits: 5-3
Overall parlays: 2-6
Overall teasers: 3-7
Northwestern absolutely torpedoed what would otherwise have been a pretty good overall day. Being in the black in single games is nice, but it’s time to get out of the ditch in the teaser department. Let’s get on with Week 9….
Lockity Lock of the Week:
WISCONSIN (-4.5) at Northwestern
The Badgers’ thrashing of Illinois last week made me remember what Jonathan Taylor can do (159 of Wisky’s 357 rushing yards). And to think that Northwestern made Rutgers’ backfield look pretty good. Uh oh.
Other lines I like:
TCU (-13.5) at Kansas
Kansas showed its true colors last week against Texas Tech’s backup QB. I’ll take TCU – even as sub-par as they are this year – to find a way to win by 17+.
Georgia vs. FLORIDA (+6.5)
A rivalry game and Florida has been playing well lately. I’ll take the points.
IOWA (+6) at Penn State
Penn State is reeling lately, and Iowa………well……….hasn’t been. That Hawkeye defense is absolutely for real and will keep Iowa in the game throughout.
Clemson at (+17) FLORIDA STATE
That is a HUGE number. Clemson will win, but this will be more of a fight than folks think. Give me the points.
INDIANA (-2.5) at Minnesota
IU has been solid lately, aside from a thrashing at the hands of Iowa. Minnesota has laid some eggs this year. I trust IU more here.
NC STATE (-2) at Syracuse
The Wolfpack was low-level division one kinda bad against Clemson last week. But, Syracuse wasn’t much better, needing three overtimes to get past North Carolina. Dave Doeren’s team wakes up this week and takes care of business on the road.
UTAH (-10.5) at Ucla
Don’t look now, but UCLA has won two in a row after dropping its first 5 games. That ends Saturday.
Teasers of the Week (6-point shift)
TCU (-7.5) at Kansas; UTAH (-4.5) at Ucla
IOWA (+12) at Penn State; Clemson at FLORIDA STATE (+23)
You’d think I’d finally learn to stop taking so many road teams, but here I go again……
Parlay of the week
WISCONSIN (-4.5) at Northwestern; TCU (-13.5) at Kansas; INDIANA (-2.5) at Minnesota
So, let’s hear it, Canes fam. Tell me why I’m wrong, and what YOU think is going to happen.
