ProCanes NFL Recap: Week Eight

Lamar Miller continues his resurgence, Chris Herndon finds the endzone again, Sam Shields opens up to the Players Tribune

NFL: Green Bay Packers at Los Angeles Rams Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

Houston Texans 42 - Miami Dolphins 23

Texans RB Lamar Miller had his second straight 100-yard game as the Texans took down the Dolphins on Thursday night. Miller finished the evening with 133 yards on 18 carries and a touchdown, but his run of the night was this 58-yard scamper:

Dolphins RB Frank Gore continued to demonstrate that he can still hold his own in the backfield, rushing 12 times for 53 yards for a respectable 4.4 yards per carry.

Philadelphia Eagles 24 - Jacksonville Jaguars 18

Jaguars DE Calais Campbell continued to be a penetrating force on the defensive line despite the Jaguars recent struggles. Campbell collected 7 tackles, a sack and 2 tackles for loss.

CB Dee Delaney saw his first game action of the season after entering the contest for the Jaguars in the second half .

Pittsburgh Steelers 33 - Cleveland Browns 18

Steelers DE Anthony Chickillo contributed to a strong defensive effort by Pittsburgh with 2 tackles, including one tackle for loss and a pass break-up.

Browns RB Duke Johnson Jr had 2 catches for 16 yards in the losing effort, and TE David Njoku wasn’t targeted once in the game, much to the dismay of fantasy owners everywhere:

Cincinnati Bengals 37 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers 34

Bengals RB Mark Walton had 3 touches for 17 yards (7 rushing and 10 receiving)

Chicago Bears 24 - New York Jets 10

Jets TE Christopher Herndon recorded a TD reception for the 3rd consecutive week. The 17-yard score was his only grab of the day, but the rookie TE is definitely developing some chemistry with the Jets’ rookie QB Sam Darnold:

Bears P Pat O’Donnell had a great day switching the field for Chicago, punting 5 times for 225 yards and leaving the Jets inside their own 20 twice.

Washington Redskins 20 - New York Giants 13

Giants DE Olivier Vernon had 3 tackles and a fumble recovery, which he returned 43 yards into Redskins territory:

Arizona Cardinals 18 - San Francisco 49ers 15

Cardinals DT Olsen Pierre finished with 2 tackles as the Arizona defense held the Niners to just 88 rushing yards to pick up their second win of the season.

Los Angeles Rams 29 - Green Bay Packers 27

Rams CB Sam Shields may have only had 1 tackle Sunday in the Rams’ win over the Packers, but he continues to receive love from other players all over the league in his comeback season, including this week from his former team:

Shields number was called on the offensive side of the ball today as well, as he added a 12-yard reception on a fake punt called by the Rams. Ahead of Sunday’s matchup, the LA defensive back opened up to the Players’ Tribune about his return to NFL football, as well as playing his former team this weekend:

Packers TE Jimmy Graham finished Sunday’s loss with 1 reception for 21 yards.
