Recruit Game Recap — States

Miami coaches had plenty of reasons to fill seats in Orlando’s Camping World Stadium over the weekend.

South Florida was represented well this past weekend as Orlando once again hosted the FHSAA State Championship games. St. Thomas Aquinas, Chaminade-Madonna, Cardinal Gibbons, and Columbus all represented their respective classes in state championship games. Chaminade-Madonna came out victorious with a 31-10 victory over King’s Academy and Cardinal Gibbons won 48-10 to seal the 5A championship.

Despite excellent efforts, Columbus fell to Mandarin 37-35 after missing a last second two-point conversion that would have tied the game. St. Thomas Aquinas got everything they could handle out of Lakeland and fell 33-20.

Here are some individual stats that are relevant on the Miami Hurricanes recruiting front:

LB Anthony Soloman (St. Thomas Aquinas) — 8 tackles and a fumble recovery in 33-20 loss to Lakeland.

CB Te’Cory Couch (Chaminade-Madonna) — 2 INT’s in 31-10 win over King’s Academy.

WR John Dunmore (Chaminade-Madonna) — Touchdown catch in 31-10 win over King’s Academy.

TE Keon Zipperer (Lakeland) — 1 reception for 25 yards, 74-yard touchdown called back in 33-20 win over St. Thomas Aquinas.

2020 Targets

RB Demarkus Bowman (Lakeland) — 222 yards and touchdown in 33-20 win over St. Thomas Aquinas.

WR Marcus Rosemy (St. Thomas Aquinas) — four catches for 94 yards in 33-20 loss to Lakeland.

WR Xzavier Henderson (Columbus) — three touchdown catches in 37-35 loss to Mandarin.

WR Fenley Graham (Lakeland) — 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in 33-20 win over St. Thomas Aquinas.
