In a breaking report that confirms something that had been rumored for a while now, Miami Hurricanes freshman QB Jarren Williams will transfer from the program. This report is by Steve Wiltfong of 247sports.
Breaking: Sources tell me that former 4-star QB Jarren Williams will transfer from Miami https://t.co/5ydxseHSRU

If true, and it likely is, this is bad. Williams, a 4-star All-American recruit, has a wealth of talent and was going to compete with N’Kosi Perry for the starting QB spot in 2019. But, Mark Richt said Perry was the odds on leader, and Williams was disenfranchised by a lack of playing time this season, and now the Georgia native is leaving.
I’ll say it again: this is bad.
I stated earlier in this cycle that Miami needed a QB this year because if any returning QB were to transfer, the Canes would only have 2 scholarship players at the game’s most important position. This is now the current state of affairs.
I/we will have more thoughts on this, but Miami can’t keep having talented offensive players leave the program. ESPECIALLY not with the abject failure that offensive recruiting has been in the 2019 cycle.
All the best, Jarren. I’ll be rooting for you.
