On Thursday afternoon, the Miami Hurricanes announced that sophomore punter Zach Feagles was not with the team in New York for the Pinstripe Bowl, and that he has decided to leave the program.

Here is the release from Miami Athletics:

BRONX, N.Y. – The University of Miami announced Thursday that punter Zach Feagles has decided to leave the football program.

Feagles, a sophomore from Ridgewood, N.J., averaged 38.7 yards on 102 punts over his two seasons with the Hurricanes.

This should come as no surprise. To say Feagles struggled in his 2 years with the Canes would be quite the understatement. The son of former Cane and 22 year NFL veteran punter Jeff Feagles, Zach never lived up to the legacy or performance of his father.

As always, we wish Zach Feagles the best in his future endeavors.

The Miami Hurricanes face the Wisconsin Badgers in the Pinstripe Bowl at 5:15pm eastern.
